Playground – call for collaborations

The relationship between a composer and a performer can be the driving force behind uncovering hidden reserves of creativity. Through conversations and rehearsals, ideas have often emerged that became the seeds of groundbreaking projects. In the spirit of collaboration and co-creation, Spółdzielnia Muzyczna contemporary ensemble is now opening submissions for its renowned project PLAYGROUND 2026.

PLAYGROUND is a space for developing compositional ideas. Through individual consultations and conceptual and technical workshops, composers will have the opportunity to confront their ideas with sonic reality and draw from the expertise of the project’s supervisor, Piotr Peszat. The result of several months of collaboration will be new works performed by the musicians of Spółdzielnia Muzyczna. Above all, the project is about building relationships, exchanging experiences, and shaping new ways of thinking about music.

ROK 2025:

Playground: Call for Collaborations 2024/2025 is a project aimed at promoting contemporary music worldwide, engaging with the latest artistic trends and creative approaches while highlighting the significant contribution of Polish artists. The programme consists of lectures, workshops, and concerts featuring works by creators selected through an open call. The lecture and workshop activities in France, Austria, Sweden, the Czech Republic, and Estonia constitute the first stage of the project. Their aim is to promote the initiative and encourage young composers to apply by presenting Poland as a valuable partner in international artistic collaboration. The second stage involves collaboration between composers and performers, resulting in the creation of new musical works and their presentation in concert form in partner countries: Sweden, Estonia, the Czech Republic, and Spain.

The supervisor of this year’s edition is Paweł Malinowski, who will lead consultations with the finalists and give a lecture. His work, [title unknown], will also be featured as part of the concert programme.
