Dictionary of Imaginary Sounds – Syntheses

Słownik dźwięków wyobrażonych - Syntezy

Workshops

June 14 and July 12, 2025, 10:00 AM, MOCAK Museum

We invite you to a unique event for Deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing individuals. During the workshop, participants will explore the basic parameters of sound. Together, they will search for the atoms of sound and explore its spectrum. They will learn how to package sound, and whether the frequency of bus runs has anything to do with its pitch. Participants will learn about the processes of combining sounds and their notation in a musical score. The workshop will be an opportunity to work together to create a multisensory experience in which sounds are transformed into vibrations.

Leaders: Asia Nawojska, Katarzyna Feiglewicz-Peszat, Piotr Peszat, and musicians from the Contemporary Music Cooperative Ensemble. Registration is open for two workshops (the second will take place on July 12th at 10:00 AM at MOCAK).
Email registration is open until June 12th at ensemble@spoldzielniamuzyczna.com.

Concert

July 12th, 2025, 4:00 PM, MOCAK Museum

In Piotr Peszat’s piece, created based on workshop experiences, you’ll not only hear sound—you’ll also see and feel it. The concert space will become a multi-sensory installation, where light and image react to the music, and you can move freely: sit, lie down, stand, or walk among the performers.

We especially encourage the use of vibrating devices, which allow you to perceive sound with your whole body—without overloading your hearing and in complete safety.

The event will be preceded by a short introduction discussing the piece and the listening tools. Performers – Contemporary Ensemble Music Cooperative:
Małgorzata Mikulska – flute
Tomasz Sowa – clarinet
Krzysztof Guńka – saxophone
Aleksandra Płaczek – synthesizers
